The first genetic sampling for the BatsConserve project started in May 2018. More samplings were done in June 2018, in the National Parks of Rhodopi Mountain Range and East Macedonia and Thrace. Bats were caught with mist nets set at rivers, streams, ponds and under bridges, mainly in forested areas. 15 samples were collected. The activity is implemented by PB2: the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki – Special account for research funds, Department of forestry and natural environment.
